You might now! Baby Reese, 7 days old…

love how her hands almost make a heart here…

Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia - Newborn, Children, Family, Maternity Photographer
Welcome to my blog! Take a look around. Here you'll find recent posts of sneak peeks from sessions I have done, as well as contests and news.
Photography gives me a creative outlet and a way for me to freeze time. Time goes by even faster with a child, and photographing mine allows me to keep her small and with me forever. God gave me the gift of photography. I share my gift of capturing and freezing time with others, and the thought of how I am able to do that for my clients, family, and friends - makes me smile!
You might now! Baby Reese, 7 days old…

love how her hands almost make a heart here…

I have never seen a newborn as strong as Reese. She literally held her head up, inched/crawled, turned her her head multiple times, and tried to roll over at least 3 times - and she’s only 7 days old today!!
See what I mean?

But when she wasn’t acting like a 2-3 month old, she was such a gorgeous and perfect little newborn…

Beautiful red-head, Katherine Linden, who will be known as Linden (such an awesome name, huh?), was such an easy newborn to photograph. I don’t know what it is about second children, but they just kind of ease into the world and don’t make much of a fuss when they are hanging out. Of course Linden did have a little drama - she came home from the hospital just hours before our shoot. She had somehow gotten a virus that caused a fever which the doctors were concerned about.
By the time I met her, she was as good as new and as perfect as can be!

I love flakey-skinned newborns. Nothing says, “I’ve been waiting to meet you for 9 months by sitting in water” like this

I will post real sneak peeks later this week, but for now, check out what I did this past weekend. It was a busy one!
As soon as I got to Atlanta I met up with the fabulous Jody of Jodylynn Photography and her family for lunch.

Then it was off to Grace’s christening-

Followed by a reception and and a quick session with Grace and her family-

Yesterday was jam-packed. I began the morning with Natalie-

MJ-

and Naim-

Then it was off to baby Linden and big sister Siler’s house for newborn pictures. Linden had been in the hospital for a few days with a fever, but luckily made it home and was feeling great in time for our session!

I wrapped up the weekend with Sawyer! He will turn 3 in two weeks. We had a blast at the park-

Whew, that wears me out to think about it all over again, but it sure was fun! Stay tuned for more this week…
Ah, William! What a lucky boy! He was born into the most wonderful and loving family!
I photographed his sister as a newborn about about 11 months and 2 weeks ago, so I was thrilled not only to meet sweet baby William, but to see this beautiful family grow even more in the past year. I have a whole post about Elizabeth’s 1 year portraits which we caught also on Sunday, but you’ll have to wait a little bit more for those because this post is mostly about William!

First of all, how amazing is this bed??? My best friend’s father, Larry Sligh, custom made this bed for me. If any of my photography connections happen to be interested in your own version of this bed, let me know and I’ll get you his contact information. He’s an amazing carpenter, and I’m so thankful for him!
Elizabeth loved the bed too, so you’ll see some cute pictures of her with the bed on her own, but I couldn’t resist these two of her and her baby brother and the sweet love she showed him while I was there -

Of course I couldn’t help but show this perfect family portrait-

And then you have these two, which made me want to pack William up and take him home with me!

Congratulations on this newest addition to your family! He’s absolutely adorable and I look forward to watching Elizabeth and William grow up!
Henry broke all the rules for me! He was the sleepiest, most perfectly curled up newborn I’ve ever had - and he was 18 days old. Usually they stop acting so “fresh from the womb” around 14 days old and the baby acne and cradle cap begins - but nope, not Henry. If these portraits don’t give you baby fever - well, nothing will!
Another thing I loved about this session, is that mom and dad took a break and were able to nap and relax while Henry and I took all of his solo pictures. I felt free to take my time with sweet Henry, and that was very fun! Mom and dad, if you ever need a babysitter - call me

He did wake up for a short time, and I got this cute expression!

What a perfect family. Henry even slept through family picture time!

These two were Henry’s mom’s ideas… very cute!

I have been awaiting the arrival of sweet baby Maddox for quite some time. He was the sleepiest newborn I’ve had to date - and it was love at first sight!

He was showing out already - so handsome!

A little different processing on these next few. I love it…!

Such a little peanut!

And this one matches some of his nursery details -

See what I mean? His mommy has fantastic decorating taste too!

And we can’t forget big brother, Lake. Check out this smile!

I did get a couple of the family all together that I will have to come back and share later… Enjoy your sneak peek
Sally and I have a very special bond for quite a few reasons. The first reason is that I was there when she was born. I photographed her grand entrance in to this world. I was the very first person to take her picture! So it was no surprise to me when I arrived at Sally’s house on her 2 week birthday to take her newborn photographs, that she would be on her best behavior and we’d have another couple of milestones that I could document while I was there!
Check out the progression of this heart-melting smile!! What I love the most about this though is that there are 2 smiles here. Sally’s and her mommy’s. Look at the mother’s cheeks as Sally’s face lights up. This is a 10×20 storyboard, and I would have this printed on a matboard and displayed on a desktop easel. The words and borders are customizable. Too cute!

When I arrived, Sally’s belly looked like this -

But toward the end of our session, it looked like this! Yep, her cord fell off during our session.

She slept like a little angel too. I love her lips!

It looks like she’s smiling at her mommy here! I think she’s advanced in the smiling department for a newborn…
Even Daddy got a grin!

I love this picture of Sally and her grandmother, Sally. Actually both of her grandmothers are named Sally!

I will be taking pictures of this sweet little baby for the next year. Her parents have booked 3, 6, 9 month and 1 year sessions with me. I’m thrilled I get to capture her changes for the first year of her life. They grow so fast!
If you are interested in seeing a slideshow of Sally’s birth story, you can view it here -> Sally’s Birth Slideshow.
I only book one birth session a month, so if you are interested in having your birth experience documented, please contact me as soon as you can!
Wow, words cannot express how amazing it is to watch a baby enter this world. Sally is extremely blessed to have such a wonderful family, and I’m so thankful they allowed me to share in their experience and joy. Mom’s water broke last night at 7:30 and Sally was here at 3:27 a.m. this morning, 04/25/09. Both mother and baby are beautiful and healthy.
Here’s a sneak peek of their experience. I will save some of the good ones for the slideshow, but I can tell you when Sally was born, I was so excited I shed a tear and my heart was racing!
Congratulations Moore and Sheehan families on your newest member!
