Ms. L turned 2 last month and we had a fun session today that ended with a tea party (which my daughter crashed!).
I can’t believe how much this sweet little girl has grown in the past year! She’s talking up a storm now too and she’s hilarious!

Birmingham, Alabama and Atlanta, Georgia - Newborn, Children, Family, Maternity Photographer
Welcome to my blog! Take a look around. Here you'll find recent posts of sneak peeks from sessions I have done, as well as contests and news.
Photography gives me a creative outlet and a way for me to freeze time. Time goes by even faster with a child, and photographing mine allows me to keep her small and with me forever. God gave me the gift of photography. I share my gift of capturing and freezing time with others, and the thought of how I am able to do that for my clients, family, and friends - makes me smile!

I’ve had the joy of photographing these two gorgeous sisters for about a year and a half now. They are the sweetest girls, and I love them… and their parents. We’ve actually become great friends with this family! After our shoot, they stayed and played a while at our house. My daughter ADORES these girls and wants to be just like them. I’m totally fine with that because they are so well mannered and behaved!
Meet Savannah, she’s a real model, and she definitely did some modeling for me during our shoot. She’s such a doll!

This is Savannah’s big sister, Caylee. I love how even though she’s starting to look grown up, she’s still so girly and innocent!
They get along great and play very well together!

Remember me saying Savannah was a model…?

You can actually find her in the ads of your Sunday paper TODAY! Check her out holding the Easter basket! Savannah gets her skills earnestly, her mommy is a beautiful model too in real life!

These two adorable boys are almost 3 years apart. Older brother’s 5th birthday is tomorrow, and little brother just turned 2 a little over a month ago! They were honestly the sweetest and happiest little guys. I had a great time photographing them!

The idea of photographing another photographer is a little daunting… I think the bar is a little higher to do something different and to make sure we got lots of shots of Mom in there, since she’s always the one behind the camera!
I’ve been seeking out new locations and I found a few I love. What do you think?

Ms. A turns 4 today! Happy Birthday sweet girl!

Christy is the owner and photographer 2 Twirly Girls Photography. Can you guess where she got the inspiration for the name? Aren’t her daughters beautiful?

… will be to blog more! I have sorely neglected my blog over the past month, and for that I apologize. I won’t let it happen again. You see, it’s not that I haven’t been shooting and working, , and preparing for upcoming workshops, it’s that I’ve been busy, and busyness leads me to laziness. I have been posting pictures on my facebook fan page during this time though, because, well, it’s just easier and quicker :).
So without further ado, let me share a fun story and some pictures with you to get me back to blogging.
My brother-in-law came to stay with us for Christmas, along with his girlfriend and his two children. He proposed to her after we opened presents on Christmas day. It was the most wonderful and heart-felt proposal. It was very moving. Luckily, I just happened to have the camera around my neck and caught the moment -

We are so excited to have April in our family!
I did a quick session for them, along with Eddie’s children right before sunset during their visit. I love the colors and how beautiful they are as a family.

The kids are very happy to have April join the family also! They love her. It’s hard not to!

It helps she’s as gorgeous on the inside as she is on the outside. I know that is so cliche, but it’s so accurate when describing her!

We love how happy they are together, and how they make each other laugh…

Congratulations April and Eddie!

Did you realize it’s already November!!??
It came as quite a shock to me too… but I got used to the idea really fast with some fun Santa mini-sessions today! It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day with perfect weather!
Most of the kids loved Santa and enjoyed visiting with him…

Some even felt comfortable enough to share their catalog wish-lists with him!

While others were more curious about his authenticity… and once convinced, posed sweetly with their siblings!

So you better be good -
Or not… Of course my child decided to be the most difficult of the day!

Later that evening, all we heard was, “Where’s Santa Claus?” So funny!
Special thanks to Andy Easterling of Grandview Financial for organizing this event. I’d say it was a huge success and I hope to do it again next year!
Here are more from last week’s session with this adorable brother and sister!

I have to keep this post short and sweet because the moving truck is coming at 8 a.m. in the morning, but since I may be a few days without internet access, and I’ve been packing like a mad woman today, I at least wanted to put a few pictures up from my shoots in Atlanta this past weekend!
First up is the Webb Family. I shot them about this same time last year and it’s amazing to see how much Nathan (almost 4) and Jessie (2) have grown in the past year!
Last time, Jessie was barely walking, but this year she gave me a good workout
I had so much fun during their session and am going to have a heck of a time narrowing these down!

Next up was Owen, who is almost 2! I photographed Owen the weekend before I moved last year, and I shot him the weekend before I moved this year. Hmm…. what a coincidence :). Owen was in my daughter’s daycare class back in Atlanta, and I was amazed to see how tall he is now! I adore his red hair and his awesome parents!

I have been taking portraits of Mary Ellis at 3, 6, and 9 months and tomorrow she will be one! For her one year photoshoot, we wanted to include the whole family.
It’s amazing how much she’s grown and how beautiful she and her sister, Carson are!
I had a great time hanging out at their house this morning. Happy Birthday Mary Ellis-

Mary Ellis has the most amazing blue eyes. They look just like her mommy’s!

I adore this one of mommy and her girls!

We can’t forget big sister, Carson who wanted to model for me today also!!!

And of course, this one just melts my heart - I think I’ve mentioned many times here my weakness for daddy-daughter(s) portraits!

I love Savannah! She has the best personality of any 3 year old I’ve ever met and she is absolutely gorgeous. It doesn’t hurt that she has beautiful parents who are awesome too!
My goal for this sneak peek was to showcase Savannah’s personality. She’s fun, she’s happy, she’s sweet, and extremely loving. If you can see that in these pictures than I did my job!

I’m loving the bokeh in this picture. It almost reminds me of a watercolor painting. What do you think?

And last but not least - this one cracks me up!

I hope you enjoy your sneak peek, Drake family!
P.S.- if you are in the Birmingham area, you should check out Drake Fitness. If you happen to listen to Rick and Bubba, you have probably heard Kevin, Savannah’s father, as a guest on the show to talk about health, fitness and Arien’s football camp.
