Shooting Star Photography bio picture

I'm glad you found me!

Welcome to my blog! Take a look around. Here you'll find recent posts of sneak peeks from sessions I have done, as well as contests and news.

Photography gives me a creative outlet and a way for me to freeze time. Time goes by even faster with a child, and photographing mine allows me to keep her small and with me forever.  God gave me the gift of photography. I share my gift of capturing and freezing time with others, and the thought of how I am able to do that for my clients, family, and friends  - makes me smile!

The moving truck arrives this morning…

Most of the boxes have been packed and the movers are arriving on this rainy Friday to load up all of our belongings on to the truck. It’s bittersweet and exciting all at the same time to be moving to a new home in a different city and state.

While we will definitely miss all of our friends and family here in Atlanta, we are looking forward to the many changes coming our way!

Next on the packing list is the modem, router, and laptop. With that said, I won’t be able to respond to emails until next week.

Thank you so much for the support and encouragement!

Lori, Kenny, and Kate Gordon

Owen

Ah… Owen. Where do I begin? There are so many things I love about Owen.

  1. The best red hair and blue eyes, ever! I mean, seriously… What a combination! He’s a photographer’s dream.
  2. He’s such a happy boy with fun and incredible parents!
  3. I get to see him almost everyday when I drop Kate off at daycare, so I knew this smile and was so happy to see quite a few of them today… (and am going to miss it terribly after Friday!). But lucky me, I will always have these pictures!
  4. Owen will be ONE on Friday and he’s a new walker! Which makes picture time even more fun!

And if you were wondering where the red hair came from…

And the blue eyes are all Dad’s!

Nice, dramatic afternoon light!

Happy Birthday, Owen! Kate and I are going to miss you sweet boy! I hope we see you again when we are in Atlanta to visit!

How can you spot a photographer’s child?

They grab the lens cap and do this whenever you get the camera out-

…as if to say, “put it up mama!”

Little stinker.

At least she’s cute, so I let her get away with it!

Of course we are doing nothing but gearing up for the big move to Birmingham next week!

Can I tell you how hard it is to pack with a 1 year old running around and in to everything?

In other news, I have fully booked 2 days packed with mini sessions in Birmingham on November 22nd and 23rd! I’m excited to get to take pictures of new clients in my new hometown!

I’ve also been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and kindness from friends, family, and clients here in Atlanta. I’m going to miss everyone! Please know, we’ll be back all the time! It’s an easy drive from Birmingham and I plan to put on my calendar the days we will be in Atlanta so if anyone wants to book a shoot, or just get together, on those days, you will know my availability!

Please keep in touch, and PLEASE continue to leave me comments here. I love knowing that you guys are out there and following what I’m up to! THANK YOU,  THANK YOU!

Liam and Chloe with their Parents!

I have photographed the adorable Liam and Chloe before… This time they were with Mommy and Daddy and they had a ball at the botanical gardens! This is not really a sneak peek because I just finished their entire set of proofs so this post includes some of my favorites from the session!

Oh, and Liam will be 4 at the end of the month! Happy early birthday little guy!

And since my last mommy enjoyed seeing a picture of herself, here’s another pretty mother to feature! Just beautiful!

Danielle

To say Danielle, (aka “Doodle”) has a big personality and is very happy would be an understatement… Wouldn’t you agree?

She’s adorable and loving…

…beautiful, and hilarious!

Just like her mommy!

(who has that gorgeous pregnancy glow since she’s expecting Doodle’s little brother or sister!)

I had a great time Danielle and Emily!

Julia

8 year old Julia is probably the happiest girl I’ve seen in a very, very long time! She was all smiles and giggles and excited for our photoshoot.

Julia is an aspiring dancer and by the looks of her technique, I’d say she’s headed for a spot in the Atlanta Ballet!

The love in this family was very evident! The smiles and the laughs were contagious too!
